With this image here, I hope you can feel the crisp cold air, the aroma and the sounds of a YeiBiCheii ceremony. Notice how he’s holding 2 rattles…that’s not normal and it’s not done in a real ceremony. I just painted it that way for my own artistic aesthetics.
YeiBiCheii’s are Navajo deity’s that emerge for ceremony and bring an abundance of gratitude and blessings; they only appear during the winter time. Bringing family and community together with the aroma of coffee, stew, frybread, cedar and outdoor open pit fires. The cold breeze circling every curve, hearing the chants and rattles; there’s nothing like a YeiBiCheii.
Respectfully, I only paint YeiBiCheii’s during the winter; so this will be for my 2022-2023 Winter Season
